The Fairy Tale Project

The background:

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a woman* who wanted to write books. She had read many books already and then she read some books about writing books. She wrote the beginnings of some books. Then she read even more books. She finished writing the first draft of a book she did not like, so she stopped working on it. As she was reading even more books, she picked up a book of fairy tales and she realised that what she really wanted, was to write something that had to do with fairy tales.

What I am doing:

Firstly, I am translating fairy tales (although I prefer the term folk tales) from Hungarian. At least some of these translations will be available for free.

Secondly, I am writing a series of short stories on a fairytale theme. Some of these will be based on existing tales, others will be my own original stories.

Thirdly, I am working on bringing the spirit of fairy tales into the rest of my writing.

Fourthly, if I am very brave, I will write some essays on the theme of fairy tales.
